Who are we?

The Departmental Tourist Boards help to create, promote and market tourism products in close collaboration with tourism professionals and bodies.

Their main function is to fulfil the following roles:

  • promoting tourism both in France and abroad
  • designing and delivering tourist information.

What do we do?

We provide you with information and help you to organise your holiday, ensuring that you can discover all the wealth of attractions that Anjou and Touraine in the Loire Valley have to offer. Our reception and information staff will be pleased to answer any questions you may have about your holiday here, and send you all the tourist information brochures you require concerning our holiday destination free of charge.

Anjou and Touraine are lands of rich heritage and gardens, shaped by the winding untamed Loire River and its forever changing mood, forming a natural passageway between the Île de France and Atlantic coast. The region, that received members of the royal court and was the cradle of French royalty, has seduced and inspired many kings and artists (the House of Plantagenet, Henry II and Richard the Lion heart, François I, Rabelais, Ronsard, Joachim du Bellay, Leonardo da Vinci, Balzac, Alexandre Dumas...). Numerous crafts and industries have seen the light of day here which today's visitors can delight in, from the wines and gastronomy to silk and wicker crafts. Over the centuries man has shaped the region now listed a Unescoworld heritage sight.

With such a wealth of heritage, the Anjou and Touraine Departmental Tourist Boards decided to join forces to offer children a recreational and instructive discovery tour by creating the "Entrez dans la Cour des Grands" initiative.

Some forty sites have since joined the initiative, all committed to offering high standards of quality and visits designed specifically for families.
